On qualifying for the EURO 2008

There are 7 qualifying groups for the EURO 2008, groups A through G. 50 nations are qualifying (group A has 8 teams, B through G have 7).

14 nations from the qualifying rounds will go on to the final tournament in cities around Switzerland and Austria. That means the group winners and runners-up.

Since Austria and Switzerland are the host nations, they automatically qualify for the final stage of the EURO 2008 tournament.

The qualifying rounds started on September 2nd 2006 and the last matches will be played on November 21st 2007.
